To ensure consistency and interoperability, governments, industry bodies, international organisations and others are defining frameworks for the creation and use of digital identities. Typically, these frameworks include assurance requirements for services that operate within them.

FIDO Alliance
FIDO standards underpin secure and passwordless authentication across billions of devices. Leveraging biometrics such as fingerprint or facial recognition, FIDO enables strong user authentication while preserving privacy. MOSIP (Modular Open Source Identity Platform)
The Modular Open Source Identity Platform enables scalable digital identity infrastructure for national programs. AGDIS (Australian Government Digital Identity System)
Australian Government Digital Identity System Launched on 1 December 2024 – but with roots dating back much further to the Trusted Digital Identity Framework (TDIF) – AGDIS sets the framework for a trusted digital identity ecosystem in Australia. BixeLab supports AGDIS through ISO-based biometric testing aligned with its Accreditation Data Standards — ensuring consistently secure identity verification as the system expands to states and private entities.
